| The
International Leadership Institute was established in 1985, with the
specific goal of helping people develop their potential as leaders in
business. This goal led to the creation of the Executive Education
Programs for Czech Business Leaders, a joint venture with the
Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, which ran in the USA from 1991 to
1996. ILI President and CEO Jaroslav Tusek combined his
experience of running leadership development programs for the American
Management Association, with his years of helping people find meaningful
careers at the Career Group in New York City and New York Institute of
Technology, to develop unique programs that went beyond
traditional executive education programs.
Jarda's
personal experience of living, studying and working in seven countries
enabled him to see the constant interplay between an individual's
leadership and career development, and the needs of the bigger world
around him.
From this perspective, Jarda designed the EEP-CBL
(Executive Education Programs for Czechoslovak Business Leaders)
executive education programs that challenged participants to gain a
better understanding of international economics, reexamine their own
careers in light of needed leadership qualities and skills, set
ambitious new goals for themselves, and make concrete plans for putting
those goals into action.
The Institute has continued to develop programs (AELI, Travel-and-Learn, 21st Century Jobs, Essential Prague), publications (ILI Publishing House) and services (MRP) that help people pinpoint, develop and use the most-needed leadership skills in the ever-shrinking global community.
